Experience the JOY of ensemble singing in Maroon Bel Canto Choirs!

Maroon Bel Canto Choirs (MBCC) offers beginning and intermediate singing opportunities within two choir divisions for the 2023-2024 school year.

Maroon Bel Canto Children's Chorus (MBCCC) gives students in upper elementary school the chance to participate in a traditional children’s choir with other young singers and learn the foundation of choral singing in a fun, supportive, high-energy environment. Singers rehearse weekly at their chosen MBCCC school site and then join with singers from across the valley in a mass rehearsal and a performance. The choir is open to all students with a desire to sing.
Maroon Bel Canto Singers (MBCS) is a smaller, more select ensemble for older students, with or without prior choral experience. In this choir for middle school students, singers rehearse weekly at their chosen MBCS school, sing with students from other schools in a mass rehearsal, act as section leaders for younger students, and perform a concert in March. With the focus squarely on older middle-school singers, we’ll learn fun and challenging repertoire, develop sight-reading skills, and build strong vocal technique!

Starting in mid-October and ending before Spring Break, Maroon Bel Canto Choirs are designed so students can sing in the ensemble and still participate in other after school activities and athletics, including spring sports. Learn more.

The Aspen Music Festival and School's AfterWorks programming (after-school music education) also includes the AMFS Beginning Strings, Chamber Music Lab, and Lead Guitar programs. Students are welcome to participate in multiple programs.

Program Cost and Scholarship

Maroon Bel Canto Choirs Program Cost: $195

Cost includes all rehearsals and the Showcase Concert, snacks during the MBCC Workshop, bus transportation (on school district buses) to the MBCC Workshop, a music binder, all music, and a MBCCC/MBCS uniform shirt.

This program is heavily subsidized by the AMFS and the AMFS's generous donors. The actual program cost is more than $400 per student!

A limited number of scholarships (full and partial) are available to families who demonstrate significant financial need. We are also happy to set up tuition payment plans for accepted students.

Scholarship Policies and Agreement

Tuition Scholarship Participation Policy

Students who receive a tuition scholarship are REQUIRED to participate in the entirety of the Maroon Bel Canto Choirs program. Please be sure you can commit to MBCC for the duration of the program this school year (early November through the mid-March Showcase concert) before requesting a tuition scholarship.

If a scholarship student leaves or stops participating in Maroon Bel Canto Choirs before the end of the program, they may be required to pay back the tuition scholarship they were granted.
