Introduction

Experience the joy of singing in Maroon Bel Canto Choirs!

Maroon Bel Canto Choirs (MBCC) offers beginning and intermediate singing opportunities within two choir divisions for this school year.

Maroon Bel Canto Children's Chorus (MBCCC) gives students in upper elementary school the chance to participate in a traditional children’s choir with other young singers and learn the foundations of choral singing in a fun and supportive environment. Singers rehearse weekly at their chosen MBCCC school site and then join with singers from across the valley in a mass rehearsal and performance. The choir is open to all students with a desire to sing.
Maroon Bel Canto Singers (MBCS) is a smaller, more select ensemble for middle school students, with or without prior choral experience. Singers rehearse weekly at their chosen MBCS school, sing with students from other schools in a mass rehearsal, act as section leaders for younger students, and have performance opportunities. We’ll learn fun and challenging repertoire, develop sight-reading skills, and build strong vocal technique!

Starting after Fall Break (mid-October) and ending before Spring Break, Maroon Bel Canto Choirs are designed so students can sing in the ensemble and still participate in other after school activities and athletics, including spring sports. Learn more.

The Aspen Music Festival and School's AfterWorks programming (after-school music education) also includes Beginning Strings, Chamber Music Lab, and Lead Guitar. Students are welcome to participate in multiple programs.

Rehearsal Locations

All Roaring Fork Valley students (regardless of what school they attend during the school year) are welcome to participate at any school location, following the age level divisions. Transportation is not provided, and please note that rehearsal schedules are subject to change (although we hope they won't and will let you know if changes do occur!).

Program Cost and Scholarship

Maroon Bel Canto Choirs Program Cost: $225

Cost includes all rehearsals and the Showcase Concert, snacks during the MBCC Workshop, bus transportation (on school district buses) to the MBCC Workshop, a music binder, all music, and a uniform shirt. This program is heavily subsidized by the AMFS and generous donors--thank you, donors!

A limited number of scholarships (full and partial) are available to families who demonstrate significant financial need. We are also happy to set up tuition payment plans for accepted students.
